Gangnam-gu is holding safe driving training for mobile workers together with Coupang Eats Service. Gangnam-gu (district mayor Seong-myeong Cho), a city where dreams gather and envisioning the future, will hold a two-wheeler delivery with Coupang Eats Service (CEO Myeong-gyu Kim), a delivery service specialist, at Chunghyeon Church (Senior Pastor Gyu-sam Han) from 9:00 to 16:30 on the 18th. Provide safe driving training to employees.

The district signed a business agreement with Coupang Eats Service in November last year and is carrying out various cooperative projects for the safety of mobile workers. Following the free inspection of delivery motorcycles in November last year, we prepared safe driving training this time. The need for safety training was also a request made by delivery workers at a free two-wheeler inspection and meeting held with the Minister of Employment and Labor last January. After the meeting, the district has been broadcasting safety education videos from the Ministry of Employment and Labor to mobile worker shelters 24 hours a day so that users can watch safety education videos at any time.

The training will be conducted twice, at 9:00 and 14:00, by inviting experts from the Korea Motorcycle Maintenance Association. Divided into theory (60 minutes) and practice (1 hour and 30 minutes), the course lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes and provides overall knowledge on safe driving, including introduction to two-wheeled vehicle safety equipment, accident prevention methods, and what to do in case of engine and brake malfunction. Safety protective equipment such as ankle guards and safety vests are provided to those who complete the training to prevent traffic accidents. As a side event, the Seoul Gangnam Employment and Labor Office’s employment counseling booth and public health center’s cardiovascular and cerebrovascular prevention health counseling booth will be operated.

Meanwhile, Chunghyeon Church, which provided the venue for this training, is working with Gangnam-gu to provide various services and support for the local community. Last year, during the hot weather, iced water was provided to mobile workers, and this year, drinks were provided to those receiving training.

Gangnam-gu Mayor Cho Seong-myeong said, “We hope that delivery workers who have worked without separate safety training will prevent traffic accidents through safe driving through this training.” He added, “We will continue to promote public-private cooperation projects in the future to create a safe working environment for delivery workers.” “I will empathize with you and make you pay attention,” he said.
