The ‘Excellent Agricultural and Livestock Processed Products Public Meal Evaluation’, which was first held last year and received favorable reviews, is being held for the second time this year. The target range has been expanded to include not only schools, the military, and institutions involved in group meals in the province, but also distribution MDs, and it aims to more actively promote the excellent agricultural and livestock processed products of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province and expand sales channels.
This event was attended by approximately 700 people, including school nutritionists working in the province, military food service managers, distributor store managers, 52 convergence-certified companies, 13 governor-certified companies, 14 youth council companies, and 79 other companies and distribution-related personnel.
In addition, this year, in addition to exhibiting certified products, we prepared a ‘Group Meal Kit’ booth to introduce them to public institutions suffering from rising labor costs and a shortage of personnel, and operated a ‘Gangwon Youth Rural Convergence Business Association’ booth to promote processed products from young farmers, creating a place where people could see a variety of products at once.
Last year, 35 companies achieved a supply performance of 25 billion won through the evaluation, and this year, it is expected that the foundation for large-scale supply expansion will be established through this agricultural and food product fair. In particular, excellent companies selected through this evaluation will be given the opportunity to supply public food and enter the Ministry of National Defense commercial supplies system.
Kim Jin-tae, the governor of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, said, “The Gangwon Agricultural and Food Fair is the first sales model developed by Gangwon Province,” and added, “It has the triple benefit of helping farmers who supply ingredients for processed agricultural and food products, soldiers and students who receive excellent processed agricultural and livestock products in the province, and the local economy. I hope that this year’s sales performance will continue to be higher than last year’s.”
