Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province has begun investigating the damages suffered by Timon and WeMakePrice and providing guidance on how to provide relief. In relation to the large-scale settlement delays at Timon and WeMakePrice, 128 consumer damage consultations and 18 small and medium-sized business damage reports have been received in the province.

Consumers can first request cancellation of payment from their credit card company for card payments and request refusal of payment for installment transactions.

In cases where cash payments and card cancellations are not possible, you can apply for collective dispute mediation for travel, lodging, and airline products promoted by the government. For products other than travel, you can receive separate guidance on how to handle them through the Consumer Counseling Center.

The province actively responds to consumer complaints, including applications for collective dispute resolution and other handling methods for related incidents, and provides related information at all times through the Gangwon Consumer Life Center website.

Regarding damage to small and medium-sized businesses, the government is currently reviewing financial support of up to 560 billion won, including 200 billion won in emergency management stabilization funds, and extension of loan guarantee periods.

The province is currently continuously assessing the damage situation, and affected businesses can report the damage situation through the ‘Go directly to the investigation of damage caused by non-settlement of sales proceeds from Timon and WeMakePrice companies’ banner window on the provincial government website and the landline number of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Economic Promotion Agency.

Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province plans to complete the damage survey as soon as possible, while also providing guidance on the government’s damage relief methods and actively supporting provincial policy funds for companies excluded from government support.

Won Hong-sik, the director of the provincial economic bureau, said, “We are receiving reports of damage from within the province as well. We will work to quickly grasp the extent of the damage and minimize the damage to consumers and businesses within the province, and to ensure that damage relief is carried out as quickly as possible.”
