jpnn.comJAKARTA – Former 2024 presidential candidate who is also a cadre of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Ganjar Pranowo also participated in the Soekarno Run event.
The marathon event was part of a series of activities for Bung Karno Month 2024 which was held at the Senayan East Parking Lot, Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Sunday (30/6).
Ganjar himself participated in the event together with the Secretary General of the PDIP DPP Hasto Kristiyanto, ministers from the PDIP, a number of members of the DPR, and elected legislative candidates from the party with the white-nosed bull symbol.
Ganjar interpreted the Soekarno Run event as not just a running event, but also learning about struggle.
“Not only a sport but people are reminded of how Bung Karno ran. Running from a political process of struggle for the nation and all the unpleasantness, he was imprisoned, exiled, and Soekarno never stopped,” said Ganjar.
He mentioned the importance of young people also learning from the struggles of Bung Karno.
“Oh, Soekarno never talked about personal interests, family interests. He talked about the fate of his nation and country, young people, if we want to learn from Soekarno, inherit his fire, not his ashes,” he said.
The former Governor of Central Java said that what Bung Karno said also happened today.
