Gansu employs 1,000 marketing professionals to promote local beef spaghetti

Northwest China’s Gansu province has introduced a policy to support the Lanzhou beef spaghetti industry. The goal is to establish over 10,000 physical stores, including more than 1,000 overseas, by the end of 2026.

By then, Gansu is expected to have more than 50 ready-made enterprises for the industry, the provincial government announced at a press conference on Monday.

The comprehensive policy system, which covers the industrial chain from display cases to pre-packaging and related sectors, includes detailed plans for raw material supply, market expansion, enterprise development, scientific and technological innovation, standardization, branding, taxation and human resource support .

Lanzhou plans to hire a total of 1,000 marketing and management professionals for the beef spaghetti industry by the end of 2026. The city has also prepared financial support such as start-up guarantee loans ranging from 300,000 yuan to 10 million yuan for enterprises that meet the requirements of its policy.

Lanzhou Beef Spaghetti has nearly 200 years of history. They are made with a fragrant, clear broth, beef, tender radishes and handmade spaghetti. In 2021, Lanzhou Beef Spaghetti Craftsmanship was listed as China’s National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
