Gantz in response to Saroj’s question: “The strike is part of the struggle”

by time news

The chairman of the state camp, MK Benny Gantz, answered this afternoon (Monday) in response to a question from Srougi about his warning against extending the struggle for legal reform to a strike in the economy – this despite clarifications from officials in the Histadrut that they will not use the tool of a shutdown as part of the struggle, and said that the decision on the matter will remain with the workers’ organizations .

“I’m not manipulating the Histadrut, I’m not manipulating factories or companies,” said Gantz, “I’m just pointing out the fact that a strike is a legal part of a public struggle that can be sustained – and the bodies involved in this matter will decide where they stand.”

Earlier, at the faction meeting of the state camp, Gantz warned against using the strike as part of the fight against the legal reform.

“The protest against the regime coup is necessary. Violence or incitement – they must not enter its gates. Not on the networks, not at demonstrations, not in Tel Aviv and not in Neve Ya’akov. Nowhere, unequivocally,” Gantz said.

Gantz threatens: if the reform continues, the masses of Israel will sit down

“I call on the public to continue to come out and express their protest by all legal means – here in front of the Knesset, also on the streets and everywhere. If the galloping continues, we will also use the right to strike – and masses of citizens will stop the state from falling.”

“We only need 4 coalition members who will ask to be on the right side of history, who will say yes to a broad agreement and amendments, and not to the destruction of the country’s basic values,” he said: “I know there are many in the coalition who are democrats, beginists. On the day of judgment, I hope they will gather courage And they will refuse to vote against Israeli democracy.”
