GAP PROJECT – PREVENTION, TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION OF GAMBLING DISORDER.

by time news

On Thursday 29 August, the Councillor for Social Policies Elisa Zocchetti met, at the Sagra della Porchetta in Costano, the operators of the Intervention Project for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of gambling disorder (GAP) provided for by the Implementation Plan of Social Zone 3.

The primary objective of the program is to promote information and awareness-raising activities, as well as interventions to support pathological gamblers and their families, and social and cultural promotion actions for the construction of an alternative culture to “gambling”, increasing knowledge and awareness of the risks associated with pathological gambling through a series of actions aimed at training, informing and raising awareness among the population as much as possible (with particular attention to the over 65 age group and their families).

Councilor Zocchetti would like to express the full support of the Administration in the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of gambling disorder.

“Our actions are born from a common social policy designed within Social Zone 3. With great commitment and energy I will continue to deploy all the tools needed to sensitize people and increase awareness of these issues. Very often it is thought that this is a risk that only affects the elderly, but statistics suggest that online gambling is very widespread and often even young people enter this terrible vortex.”

We invite you to learn about and learn more about an important project for the community, thanking the operators Valeria Stazi and Chiara Ercolani for their commitment to its promotion and dissemination, as well as the cooperatives Borgorete and ASAD for managing the project and producing information material in collaboration with the Umbria Region.
