Gapyeong-gun is receiving attention for its support of small businesses and various policies after its establishment. Gapyeong-gun (Governor Seo Tae-won) is receiving attention for actively implementing various policies centered on local small businesses after its establishment last year.
The military announced on the 5th that it has been achieving good results by promoting various projects since establishing the Small Business Support Division in January of last year to help resolve management difficulties and support growth of small business owners.
Special guarantee support project guarantee amount significantly expanded
The military has significantly expanded the special guarantee support project to ease the financial burden of small business owners. The special guarantee has been significantly expanded from KRW 4.141 billion in 2022 to KRW 4.371 billion in 2023 and KRW 5.655 billion in 2024 after the establishment of the Small Business Support Division, helping to resolve the management difficulties of small business owners.
The military is also helping small business owners expand their options by expanding the financial institutions that provide secondary loan support, and helping them continue to run their businesses in a stable manner.
Improvement of store environment and support for start-ups
Gapyeong-gun is also leading the way in supporting the self-reliance of small business owners by improving the environment of aging stores. The budget for the store environment improvement project, which supports up to 5 million won per store, has been significantly expanded from 750 million won in 2022 to 900 million won in 2023 and 1.574 billion won in 2024. In addition, 10% of the support amount was self-funded until 2022, but since last year, self-funding has been eliminated and the entire amount is supported by county funds. The number of supported companies has increased from 175 in 2022 to 320 this year.
The military has also been newly promoting small business promotion and marketing support projects since last year after the establishment of the Small Business Support and Startup Support Project, and this year, it is implementing a small business start-up support project to support small business owners who are just starting out.
The Small Business Promotion and Marketing Support Project provided 100 million won to 135 companies in 2023 and 40 million won to 59 companies in 2024. The Small Business Startup Support Project is providing 20 million won to 25 companies this year.
Promoting the revitalization of alleyway businesses
Gapyeong-gun is also actively participating in various public offerings to revitalize the alleyway market. As a result, this year, the Sangmyeon Shopping District Prosperity Association was selected for the Gyeonggi-do Brand Street Creation Project and secured 200 million won in public offering funds, and a total of 360 million won was secured in 6 public offerings.
The county is also continuously issuing Gapyeong GP Pay to vitalize the local economy and is carrying out various promotions to vitalize the operation of the public delivery app ‘Delivery Express’. The county plans to actively participate in various public offering projects and promote various support projects to vitalize local commercial districts in the future.
