The signing of the V Agreement for Employment and Collective Bargaining will be held this Wednesday without the presence of the Government. This is how the unions and employers also agreed. “It is not a veto to anyone,” the president of the CEOE, Antonio Garamendi, wanted to clarify this Tuesday, but it is a warning that relations between both parties have been deteriorating throughout this legislature until reaching a point of maximum tension.

Thus, the leader of the employers took advantage of an intervention on the radio to boast of a salary agreement and launch new reproaches to the Government, which he accused of “pure interventionism” for the battery of measures that they are approving -the last ones related to housing- and that they suppose a “total interference with the right to property”. In this sense, he asked that “they leave us alone and calm, that they let us work.” “Every day I wake up with new news about how they are going to regulate you,” the Basque reproached.

The president of the CEOE was sure that “interference with respect to rentals is going to destroy the market. I have it very clear », although he made it clear that he shares the need for public housing, but not that « it is private property that has to suffer ». In his opinion, this escalation of aid ads day after day only responds to a clear electoral strategy and does not give him any credibility. «It is incredible what we are experiencing, every day inventing things: today 20, tomorrow 40, 100… We are like Santa Claus at Christmas. All these announcements are not credible, “he assured.

Garemendi also hinted that a good part of the matters that have been included in the collective bargaining agreement have been done precisely to avoid further interference by the Government, such as those related to the regulation of discontinuous and temporary landlines, teleworking, digital disconnection, the working day, absenteeism… “We don’t want them to regulate us, to intervene in us,” he repeated.

In this sense, he described the agreement reached with CC OO and UGT as “very important”, since “it generates social peace beyond this legislature”, until 2025, and he said “to miss” that these agreements “do not occur in absolute all areas of life. Thus, he took the opportunity to send a message to the political groups so that they follow his example and approach positions, since “thinking differently is compatible with reaching agreements.” »From positions on the part, we are capable of seeking common objectives, each one giving in the part that touches us, and I believe that society is recognizing this as a very positive aspect«, he warned.

Garamendi “misses” that the agreements are given “in absolutely all areas of life” and, he has pointed out, that “in a country in which economic policy is also part of the electoral battle, it cannot be otherwise manner”.
