Tanja Hinghaus has been organizing the fundraising campaign since 2015. However, the garbage collection campaign has only existed since the Corona pandemic, when extracurricular activities were in demand. “It was also very good individually and with a mask,” she explains. On Saturday, however, garbage will be collected all over Melle without a mask.

Several sponsors have found each other who donate a certain amount for every liter of garbage collected. “But the children have also found their own sponsors who are willing to donate something for the children’s hospice,” says Hinghaus.

World-Clean-Up-Day

“The Scouts are concerned with two things on Saturday: making the world cleaner and drawing attention to World Cleanup Day on September 16,” explains Hinghaus.

For this reason, a stand will be set up on the Kohlbrink in front of the Matthäuskirche, where the children can talk to interested parties between 12 and 1 p.m.

This is also where the collected rubbish is collected, which is first packed in rubbish bags. “Anyone is welcome to come by and make a donation to the children’s hospice,” says Hinghaus.
