Technical incidents related to bad weather causing major delays at Paris-Montparnasse station have been partly resolved, SNCF announced on Friday evening July 28. Traffic should gradually return to normal, although it will still be affected in the evening.
“Traffic was disrupted at the entrance and exit of the high-speed line due to signaling problems due to bad weather south of Massyexplains the railway company to the World. Lightning fell on equipment, causing several disturbances of signaling installations. »
And to add that “The SNCF Réseau teams intervened quickly. Circulations were not interrupted, but the trains were delayed at the start or diverted on the classic line. Some of the disturbances have now been resolved, allowing traffic to flow with a limited flow. The delays will therefore continue into the evening (up to around 2 hours for the moment), but no train has been cancelled”. Line N of the Transilien is not affected by the delays.
An Agence France-Presse journalist present at the scene earlier described crowded halls, with travelers staring at information screens. Announcements sounded every five minutes at the station to warn that significant delays are to be expected.
