Garment Park in Virudhunagar; Call for report Dinamalar

CHENNAI: Chipcot has invited consulting firms to prepare a techno-economic feasibility report for an integrated ‘mega’ garment park to be set up in Virudhunagar.

In order to achieve economic development in the southern districts, an integrated garment park is to be developed in 1,100 acres at Kumaralingapuram in Chatthar taluka of Virudhunagar district. The Tamil Nadu Industry Development Corporation Chipcot is involved in the initial phase of this.

Accordingly, a ‘tender’ has been issued to select a consultancy firm to prepare a detailed technical economic feasibility report for setting up a garment park at Kumaralingapuram. Various studies including textile value, environmental assessment for setting up a garment park, site analysis, external and infrastructural assessment have to be carried out and the report prepared. As stated in the contract notification.
