Amid the economic crisis in Pakistan, several videos have surfaced on social media showing people doing risky things to get cooking gas.
As a result of the declining economy, gas cylinder manufacturing in Pakistan has been hit hard. In the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, locals are using large plastic bags to store cooking gas in order to get gas without a cylinder.
It takes about an hour to fill 3 or 4 kg of cooking gas in large plastic bags. The fronts of the filled bags are fitted with valves and tightly closed and transported.
Social activists lamented that taking it on the road is tantamount to having a bomb in hand. Portable cooking gas bags are used for cooking with a small suction tube that is electrically operated.
Pakistan has been suffering from severe economic crisis for the last few years. The government of Pakistan is struggling to provide even basic needs to its people. Besides, the price of essential commodities has increased manifold due to inflation. Due to this the people of that country are struggling to lead their daily life.
In this case, 8 patients injured by these plastic bags have been admitted to the burn care center of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
