Anyone who buys an apartment or house often also purchases a gas heating system. But there are differences between the cities, as an evaluation of purchase offers shows. In new buildings, the heat pump is at the forefront.
Just a year ago, gas heating for residents of apartments and houses seemed like a risky business. Due to the Russian attack on Ukraine, it was unclear how long the gas supplies from Russia would last, and thus how well the supply would succeed over the winter. Even before that, wholesale prices had risen sharply, revealing a number of cost risks. Nevertheless, gas heating remains the most common type of heating in Germany. What has proven itself over decades will probably remain in place for a little longer.

While the heat pump is most frequently installed in new buildings and is also considered the most cost-effective option, almost every second apartment is still heated with gas.
