RIO DE JANEIRO (Reuters) -The average price of gasoline, ethanol and diesel dropped at service stations in Brazil this week, compared to the previous week, according to a survey by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).

Gasoline fell 0.7% at the pumps over the week, to 5.63 reais per liter. The drop came after a 5.8% fossil fuel jump recorded last week.

At the beginning of the month, Petrobras cut the average price of gasoline sold at its refineries by 5.3%, at the same time that there was a re-encumbrance of federal taxes on fuel in the country.

Hydrated ethanol, a direct competitor of gasoline at the pumps, fell 1.53% in the week, to 3.87 reais per liter.

The S10 diesel, the most commercialized type in the country, fell slightly to 5.01 reais per liter this week, compared to 5.02 reais the previous week.

Common diesel, in turn, went to 4.94 reais per liter this week versus 4.95 reais last week, pointed out the ANP.

The IPTL is carried out based on supplies carried out at the company’s 21,000 accredited service stations. The common diesel, in turn, retreated 1.56%, to 5.04 reais per liter in the same comparison.
