One of India’s leading billionaires is Gautam Adhani (61), a businessman from the state of Gujarat. His company is Adani Group.

The Adani Group, which is engaged in multi-billion-crore business operations in various countries around the world, is a major player in port infrastructure and operations.

Apart from these, the Adani Group has a foothold in the fields of Ports and Airports Management, Power Generation and Distribution, Mining, Natural Gas, Food and many other infrastructure sectors.

In this case, the Adani Group is building the world’s largest “copper” (copper) production plant in the city of Mundra in the Kutch district of Gujarat.

Once this becomes fully operational, India’s dependence on foreign countries for its copper needs will be greatly reduced.

The plant is being developed at a cost of around $1.2 billion.

Production target of 1 million tonnes will be reached by 2029.

Every country needs copper for the infrastructure needed to transition from fossil fuel dependence to green fuel use, and for the construction of electric vehicles, charging stations for electric vehicles, solar cells, batteries, and wind power.

Meanwhile, its owner, Vedanta Limited, is actively trying to reopen the Tuticorin Sterlite Copper plant, which has been closed due to various reasons and has a production capacity of 4 lakh tonnes.

After steel and aluminum, copper is the most demanded metal in the industry.

At present, Chile and Peru, two of the world’s leading producers of copper, are filling the gap.
