Former coach Rahul Dravid took over the coaching of Team India in November 2021 and his tenure ended after the T20 World Cup 2024. Gautam Gambhir will spend three and a half years with Team India as the next coach. What are the conditions to become the coach of Team India
Many criteria have been set to become the coach of the Indian cricket team. Only the candidate who fulfills all the conditions is appointed. No cricketer can apply for the post of coach of Team India just like that. Some conditions apply for this.

The first condition is that the person applying for the post of coach should have played at least 30 Test or 50 ODI matches. Or should have coached a full member Test national playing team for at least two years.
The second condition is that the candidate must have been the coach of an associate member or IPL team or any equivalent international league, first class team, Nation A team for at least 3 years.
The third condition is that the candidate must possess the equivalent of BCCI Level 3 certification and be below 60 years of age.
