Gautam Gambhir | Why is he in the IPL despite being an MP? For money? Gautam Gambhir with a scathing reply

by time news
Former India opener Gautam Gambhir has come under fire for his role as the Lucknow Super Giants’ mentor and commentator in the IPL while still a Lok Sabha MP. Now Gambhir has come out with a good response to such critics.

Gambhir shared a video of himself speaking during the press conference on his official Twitter handle. “If possible, publish all this,” says Gambhir in the video.

In the 53-second video, Gambhir talks about how Rs 2.75 crore was spent on public welfare. He also mentions that Rs 25 lakh was spent for the construction of the library.

‘To people who ask me why I comment or work in the IPL, I spend Rs 25 lakh per month to feed 5,000 poor people. This would require about Rs 2.75 crore per annum. About Rs 25 lakh was spent on the construction of the library, ”says Gambhir.

‘I spend all this money out of my own pocket, not from the MP’s fund. I do not use the MP fund for my kitchen or personal needs. ‘

‘There is no money tree in my house. It was only because I worked that I was able to feed those 5000 people and build the library. I have no qualms about saying or doing commentary in the IPL. I am doing this for the ultimate goal ‘- Gambhir explained.

Gambhir is currently the BJP MP from East Delhi. Gambhir was the mentor of the Lucknow Super Giants team this IPL season. He has also served as a commentator in the IPL in previous seasons.
