60 year old Madhu Prakash is running a successful business named ‘Phoolo-Pholo’, with which 20 elderly women from across the country are also associated.

If you also feel that 60 is the age only to retire and rest, then perhaps you are wrong. If there is passion in the heart, a person can fulfill his dream at any age. A true example of this is 60 year old Madhu Prakash of Meerut. Who not only started her own business at this age but is also providing employment to 20 more women aged between 50 to 70 years.

Yes, Madhu Prakash runs a business named ‘Phoolo-Pholo’ along with her niece Sugandha. In which she sells home-made spices, pickles, mukhwas etc. His business started in the year 2021.

When his niece decided to leave her job and start her own business.

Actually, Sugandha also always wanted to do her own business instead of job. She also wanted to do something that could help others as well.

Pholo-Pholo sells products made by elderly women

During this time, when she came home, seeing her aunt’s skill, she realized why not help her in taking it forward. Madhu Prakash belongs to a business family. His grandfather used to be a physician, who used to grind spices and prepare medicines at home. Her grandmother used to make pickles, mukhvas etc. for many people and Madhu grew up seeing all this.

He never thought that this lesson learned in childhood would be useful at some stage of his life. Madhu’s husband was fighting cancer, so most of her time was spent taking care of him. But to give a new purpose to aunt’s life, Sugandha asked her to make home made products.

In this way, he started this work from home with only four products. Sugandha started marketing her products through social media and exhibitions at different places. She also wanted that like her aunt, other elderly women should make products with their own hands and sell them along with flowers and fruits.

Therefore, she started adding other women to her team, who earlier were able to deliver their products only to the people nearby.

In this way, the initiative of aunt and niece has transformed into a team of 20 women today. Who together are selling more than 40 products across the country.
