Three players from the Spanish soccer team have celebrated the achievement of the UEFA Nations League by displaying the flag of the canonical coronation of the Virgen de las Nieves in their town.
Pablo Gavira ‘Gavi’, Fabián Ruiz and Jesús Navas are from the Seville town of Los Palacios y Villafranca, which is preparing for the coronation of the Virgen de las Nieves, patron saint of the municipality, on October 12.
The Archbishop of Seville, Msgr. José Ángel Sáiz Meneses thanked the three footballers for their gesture while congratulating them on having won the final of the competition against Croatia.

The Seville municipality of Los Palacios y Villafranca, with less than 40,000 inhabitants, awarded the first Gold Medal of the Villa to Nuestra Señora de las Nieves in 1996, at the same time that she was named honorary and perpetual mayor.
