Israel continues its war on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, leaving tens of thousands dead and wounded, through bombing various areas of the Strip and launching arrest campaigns.

In Gaza, “five people, a woman and four children, were killed in an Israeli bombardment that targeted the Abu al-Samak family’s home in the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip. Three Palestinians were also killed and others were injured when the occupation bombed a school housing displaced people in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.”

In the central Gaza Strip, “Israeli helicopters targeted a group of citizens with a missile inside the Khaled bin Al-Walid School, which houses displaced people in the Nuseirat camp. Three dead and two injured people were recovered and transported by a Civil Defense ambulance to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah.”

“Israeli warplanes carried out two airstrikes in the vicinity of Block 1 in Al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip, Israeli boats bombed the coast of Rafah city, and helicopters opened fire targeting the west of Rafah city in the southern Gaza Strip. In the north, Israeli forces targeted the vicinity of the Beit Lahia project in northern Gaza, and occupation helicopters bombed Palestinian homes in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood southeast of Gaza City, while occupation artillery bombed the southwestern neighborhoods of the city.”

In this context, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told a key Knesset committee, “Only half of the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza are alive.”

The Times of Israel quoted sources present at the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee meeting as saying that Netanyahu said, “According to the information we have, half of the hostages (the remaining 97) in Gaza are alive.”

The newspaper said, “Netanyahu’s statements indicate the possibility of killing about 50 hostages, while the Israeli army has only confirmed the killing of 33 of those still in Gaza.”

The death toll from the Israeli war on Gaza has risen to 41,431 and 95,818 wounded since October 7.

In the latest developments in the West Bank, Israeli forces arrested the teaching staff at a school in the town of Haris, west of Salfit in the West Bank, according to Palestinian media.

The Israeli forces launched a wide-scale arrest campaign during the storming of the village of Haris, where they stormed the Haris Boys Secondary School and detained the teaching staff and students inside, and then arrested the teaching staff.

​​​​​​In parallel with its war on Gaza, the Israeli army and settlers escalated their attacks on the West Bank, killing 716 Palestinians, wounding about 5,750, and arresting more than 10,800, according to official Palestinian data.
