US President Joe Biden has made new statements on the Gaza ceasefire talks, saying the United States is actively working on a plan to help bring the hostages home.

Biden made a number of his statements at a major press conference.

Six weeks ago, Biden unveiled a plan that won the support of the U.N. Security Council, noting that Israel and Hamas terrorists had reached agreement on a basic framework, even though some differences remained.

Biden stressed that there is a positive trend and expressed confidence in the need to end the conflict as soon as possible.

Biden also noted that there are many areas where he would like to persuade Israel to make concessions, but stressed the importance of ending the war immediately. At the same time, he clarified that ending the war does not mean ending the persecution of Hamas terrorist leaders such as Yahya Sinwar.

The US president has pointed to declining support for Hamas in the West Bank, although he says that is not true. Polls show that most Palestinians in the West Bank support Hamas’s October 7 attack and want to see the group govern Gaza after the war ends.

Biden described Israel’s current government as “the most conservative in history” and stressed that the only way out of the conflict is to create two states.

He expressed disappointment that some of the measures he proposed had failed to materialize, including the floating pier idea. Biden noted that when he visited Israel immediately after the massacre, he counseled the Israelis to avoid repeating the mistakes the United States made after killing Osama bin Laden, emphasizing the need to prosecute perpetrators rather than occupy territory.

Earlier, “Cursor” reported that Biden made an important statement regarding the supply of Western weapons to Israel. Biden answered whether the US would resume supplying Israel with precision bombs.
