The videos that Hamas is publishing show kidnappings of civilians and soldiers in Israeli territory, from where images of destroyed vehicles in the streets and bodies on the ground come. House by house, according to the images spread on social networks, they show how the militiamen are taking hostages.
The spokesman for the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Daoud Hishab, assures that they carry out these kidnappings in order to exchange them for Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons and avoid an Israeli ground operation in the Gaza Strip.
Among the captives are children and women, as can be seen in a video in which Hamas men surround a vehicle in which the prisoners are all women, or in another in which a barefoot, injured and tied woman is dragged into the car in which she is taken hostage.
Other recordings show terrified young people who have also fallen into the hands of the militias and how an Israeli vehicle is captured amid the screams of people trying to prevent it, without success. The exact number of kidnapped civilians is still unknown, including 17 Nepalese citizens, as confirmed by the country’s ambassador to Israel.
