Gaza negotiations are the last chance to reach a truce!

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Israel on Sunday evening, on a new tour of the Middle East to discuss a ceasefire in Gaza.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken warned that the ongoing negotiations on a truce in the Gaza Strip “may be the last chance to reach a ceasefire” in the war that has been going on for more than ten months.

“I am here as part of the effort to bring the agreement to the finish line, and it is time to do so,” Blinken said in a statement during his meeting with Israeli President Isaac Herzog. “We will make sure that no one takes steps that could derail this process.”

“This is a critical moment, probably the best and perhaps the last chance to get the hostages home, to get a ceasefire and to put everyone on a better path to lasting peace and security,” he said.

It is noteworthy that after two days of talks in Doha this week, from which Hamas was absent, the mediating countries announced the presentation of a new proposal that “reduces the gaps” between Israel and Hamas to cease fire in the war that has been ongoing for more than ten months, and to release the Israeli hostages.

The number of Palestinian dead in Gaza has risen to more than 40,099 dead and 92,609 wounded.
