Gazprom and the government of Mongolia have agreed on the layout of the Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline route. This was announced on October 22 by the press service of the gas concern.

At a meeting on Friday, the parties discussed the progress of the feasibility study (FS) of the gas pipeline project, which Mongolia is engaged in, Gazprom said. The feasibility study includes a detailed calculation of investment and operating costs. Earlier it was reported that it will be developed by the end of 2021.

The Mongolian government also took a number of measures of state support for the project, including the allocation of quotas for attracting foreign labor to the construction of the gas pipeline and approved the use of the regulatory framework of Russia and Gazprom in design and construction. In addition, the Mongolian authorities decided to reserve land plots for the placement of gas pipeline facilities, the press service noted.

Soyuz Vostok will run through Mongolia and will be a continuation of the projected Power of Siberia-2 Russian gas pipeline, through which Russian gas will be supplied to China. It is expected that the export capacity of Power of Siberia-2 may exceed the capacity of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline by more than 1.3 times.
