The head of the Gazprom board of directors, Viktor Zubkov, specified how much gas remained in Russia. According to him, quoted by TASS, the country will have enough fuel for a much longer period than 50 years.

Gas reserves in the Russian Federation were discussed at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Yury Borisov on the development of the NGV market. During the meeting, Viktor Zubkov recalled the recent speech of another Deputy Prime Minister, Alexander Novak, who spoke about the amount of oil and gas remaining in Russia.

“He says that there is oil left in Russia for 30 years and natural gas for 50 years. Well, oil, perhaps, maybe for 30 years, but natural gas. We doubt that this figure, which we have named, is real.” , – said Zubkov. According to the head of the Gazprom board of directors, there is much more “blue fuel” in Russia than Novak announced.

“Take the Bovanenkovskoye field, which is about four trillion cubic meters of gas for 116 years. For 11 months of this year, 100 billion cubic meters of natural gas were sent from here, December is still ahead. This is what Russia has today,” Zubkov said.

According to him, at the end of 2020, only explored reserves amount to 34 trillion cubic meters, while Gazprom itself annually works to replenish reserves, completely covering its production.
