Gazprom has placed Eurobonds worth CHF 500 million for a period of 6 years, Denis Shlakov, First Vice President of Gazprombank, one of the organizers of the placement, told Vedomosti. The coupon rate was 1.54%, he explained.
“On June 23, 2021, Gazprom placed Eurobonds in the amount of CHF 500 million at a coupon rate of 1.54% for a period of 6 years,” said Shulakov
Gazprom entered the Swiss debt market for the first time in the last 3 years, the previous deal was placed in February 2018. Listing of Eurobonds is planned on the SIX stock exchange.
Shulakov stressed that in anticipation of the expected growth in rates on the international capital markets, Gazprom was able to raise debt with a low cost of financing in the Swiss market. At the same time, the issue became the largest in Swiss francs among foreign issuers since the beginning of this year.
Investors from Switzerland, Russia, Great Britain and continental European countries took part in the issue, explained the first vice president of Gazprombank. International demand exceeded 60% of total placement. The issue was attended by banks and private banks (about 70%), management and insurance companies (about 30%).
