GCash has expanded stock market investing to Filipinos through GStocks PH, its in-app trading platform, allowing users to trade shares of 280 Philippine-listed companies directly within the app. The initiative, powered by AB Capital Securities Inc. (ABSCI), aims to democratize access to investing by simplifying registration and reducing traditional barriers.
GCash, the leading digital wallet in the Philippines, has launched GStocks PH, an in-app stock trading platform that enables users to buy and sell shares of over 280 companies listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE). The service, operated in partnership with AB Capital Securities Inc. (ABSCI), allows users to open trading accounts, execute trades, and manage portfolios directly within the GCash app, eliminating the need for traditional brokerage processes.
GStocks PH Expands Access to Stock Market Investing
Users can access GStocks PH through the GCash dashboard by tapping the “Grow” tab and selecting “GStocks PH.” The platform streamlines the account-opening process, requiring only a verified GCash account, a government-issued ID, and an email address. Once activated, users can place limit or conditional orders, monitor transactions, and access market research and beginner-friendly guidance. According to GCash, the platform serves over 2 million users, representing more than 50% of all online retail stock market accounts with the PSE.
The expansion aligns with a broader trend of digitalization in the Philippine financial sector. The PSE’s 2025 Stock Market Investor Profile report revealed that total stock market accounts grew 27.3% to 3.64 million in 2025, up from 2.86 million in 2024. Online retail accounts alone increased 30.5% year-on-year, underscoring the shift toward digital investment channels.
Financial Literacy Initiatives and User Growth
GCash has emphasized financial literacy as a core component of its expansion. The platform offers curated investment lists, educational resources, and Pera Coach, an AI-powered tool that provides on-demand financial tips. Winsley Bangit, Group Head of New Businesses at Mynt (GCash’s parent company), highlighted the initiative’s goal: By improving digital access to investing, an area that was once traditionally reserved for the privileged few, we are helping create pathways for more Filipinos to build a more secure financial future.

Darvin Sy Su, GCash General Manager for Wealth Management, stated that the transition from a payments app to an investment platform reflects the company’s commitment to financial inclusion. The shift of GCash from an everyday payments app into the platform of choice for retail investors is part of our commitment to empowering every Filipino with accessible and secure ways to achieve long-term financial security,
Su said. The platform also allows instant fund transfers from GCash wallets to trading accounts and participation in initial public offerings (IPOs).
Industry Impact and Competitive Landscape
GStocks PH is part of GInvest, GCash’s broader investment ecosystem that includes GFunds and GBonds. The platform’s growth coincides with a surge in retail investor activity, driven by lower entry barriers and increased digital adoption. ABSCI, which operates GStocks PH, reported that the service accounts for a significant share of online retail stock market accounts in the Philippines.

The move positions GCash as a key player in the country’s evolving financial landscape. With over 2 million users on GStocks PH, the platform has become a critical gateway for Filipinos to engage with capital markets. Analysts note that GCash’s integration of financial literacy tools and AI-driven insights could further accelerate retail participation, particularly among first-time investors.
What’s Next for GCash and Retail Investors?
As GCash continues to expand its financial services, the focus will likely remain on enhancing user experience and deepening financial education. However, challenges such as regulatory compliance, market volatility, and user education will shape the platform’s long-term success.
For now, GStocks PH represents a milestone in making stock market investing more accessible to Filipinos. With its user-friendly interface, digital-first approach, and emphasis on financial literacy, the platform is redefining how ordinary investors engage with capital markets. As the Philippine stock market continues to grow, GCash’s role as a bridge between retail investors and institutional finance will be closely watched.
