Salalah: The Oman Guru Dharma Pracharana Sabha (GDPS) organized the annual celebration of the Mother Church in Dharis, Salalah. The new governing body of the women’s wing was elected at a public meeting held during the celebrations.
Prajuna Sunil will be the President, Gina Mohan will be the Vice President, Lata Vijayan will be the Secretary, Ashwati Sanesh will be the Joint Secretary and Rekha Sunil will be the Treasurer for the year 2022-23.
A committee of sixteen members was also elected to assist the administration. Guru Dharma Pracharana Sabha Oman Vice President Shijo Pushpan presided over the meeting.
Shijo Pushpan, Vice President, Guru Dharma Pracharana Sabha (GDPS), said that the Guru Dharma Pracharana Sabha (GDPS) aims to popularize the philosophy and teaching of Sree Narayana Guru and to provide services in the social, religious, cultural and educational spheres.
In his Presidential address, Shijo Pushpan stated that their main objectives are to pass on the cultural and philosophical heritage to the next generation, to introduce the devotees of Sree Narayana Guru to each other, to spread the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru, to help those who are socially and economically backward in education, and to work with other fraternal organizations for their advancement.
GDPS Oman Coordinator CV Sudarshanan and Patron K.S. Sanathanan Secretary Vinod Tharayil, SNDP Union President KK Ramesh, Secretary R Manoharan and Vice President Vijayan were the special guests. During the annual celebration, children and members of the women’s society performed various art activities.
