The general commander of the Peruvian National Police (PNP), Jorge Angulo, acknowledged that he did have communication with the fugitive former Minister of Transportation and Communications, Juan Silva, the former Undersecretary General of the Presidential Office, Beder Camacho, and the former commander of the Police, Luis Vera Llerena.

In statements to Willax TV, the senior police officer pointed out that the call records with Camacho Gadea date back to 2021 and that they only communicated on two or three occasions. In this sense, Angulo pointed out that the communications he had with the previously mentioned former officials were in compliance with his duties.

“These calls now have another context of interpretation, now they become disturbing calls when at that time they were official calls,” he said.

He assured that the only time he saw Juan Silva was when he went to the Ministry of Transport and Communications to see an issue related to the traffic of the Central Highway and that he met the questioned businessman, Zamir Villaverde, because he was introduced to him by the former general secretary of Government Palace, Bruno Pacheco.
