Lean – conscious

Retired United States General Mark Milley said that robots and other intelligent machines will make up up to a third of the US Army in the next 10 to 15 years.

Milley said, “The shift toward robotic systems will likely reduce the number of human forces in the US Army.”

The United States Air Force is seeking a “cooperative fighter” aircraft that can fly alongside human pilots to gather intelligence, confuse the enemy and even blow up targets.

The US Navy is also trying to create a hybrid fleet, with automated surface and underwater vehicles that would augment the firepower of human forces, and among the pioneers in this field is Task Force 59 in the Middle East.

“A country that improves these technologies for military use will have a very significant, and perhaps decisive, advantage in any armed conflict,” Milley said.
