General strike: Government buses run | Dynamics

Udumalai: On behalf of the All India Federation of Trade Unions, a two-day general strike was declared the day before yesterday and the day before yesterday.
In government offices, jobs were affected as 50 per cent of officers participated in the strike. Similarly, BSNL, post office, LIC and central government offices were deserted due to overwork of employees. The protest took place in front of the taluka office on behalf of the trade unions and government employees’ unions. LPF leader Nagamanikkam led the protest. The protest was attended by many including AITUC, state committee member Saundharajan, CITU, Jagadeesan, INTUC, Jahangir and executives.
