The Geneva Motor Show will not take place next year either. The organizers cited global economic and political uncertainties as well as the corona pandemic as reasons for canceling the traditional industry show for the fourth time in a row. Because of the risks, many manufacturers are unable to guarantee their participation.

The motor show should have taken place in February for the first time since 2019. Instead, the organizers now want to concentrate on organizing an offshoot of the Geneva Motor Show in November 2023 in Doha, Qatar for the first time, as planned.

The Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) started more than 100 years ago. Alongside the IAA in Germany, the Motor Show in Tokyo and the Detroit Auto Show, it was one of the most important motor shows in the world. (dpa)
