The Office of the Provincial Assembly of Kinshasa authorized this Tuesday, January 9, legal proceedings against Governor Gentiny Ngobila for, in particular, electoral fraud and possession of voting machines. This is at the request of the prosecution at the Court of Cassation.

The vice-president of the Assembly confirms to ACTUALITE.CD that the office has decided to authorize the prosecution to take up the file.

Mr. Ngobila is among the 82 people whose candidacies were invalidated and the votes obtained canceled in the national legislative elections by the CENI, notably for fraud during the December 20 elections.

It is only a drop of water that spilled from the already filled vase. Following tensions between the Office of the Provincial Assembly and the governor of Kinshasa supported by a group of deputies, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior Peter Kazadi had suspended any initiative to convene plenaries since last October at the APK.
