Gentleman 2: KT Kunjumon, who produced Gentleman directed by Shankar, is now going to make Gentleman 2 after 29 years.
Shankar, who is a great director in Tamil cinema, made his directorial debut with Gentleman. Arjun played the lead role in the movie which was released in 1993. AR Raghuman had composed the music for the film with Madhubala playing the role. Produced by KT Kunjumon, the film became a blockbuster hit.
Meanwhile, after about 29 years, they are now going to shoot Gentleman 2. Shankar, who directed the first part, did not direct the film. In his place, A. Gokul Krishna is going to direct the film. KT Kunjumon has announced that the film is going to be made bigger than the first part. Maragathamani alias Keeravani, who has composed music for blockbuster films like Baahubali and RRR, is going to compose the music for this film as well.

While there was much anticipation as to who would play the hero and heroine in the film, the announcement about the heroine was first made a few months ago. At that time, news spread that Nayanthara was going to act. But in the end they announced that Nayanthara Chakraborty aka Junior Nayanthara will play the heroine in the film.
