Kochi: Viacom 18 Sports, India’s new premier sports network, has announced that it will stream all matches related to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 live on Jio Cinema and provide curated content. From November 20 to December 18, the main event will be available on Jio Cinema for free to all viewers. The TV broadcast schedule includes Sports18 1 SD and HD.
The JioCinema app will soon be available for download on devices including Android for all telecom service subscribers with access to live and non-live programming including Viacom’s portfolio of 18 sports, including the quadrennial showpiece.
A multifold increase in data consumption has made smartphones and contracted TVs the dominant mode of content consumption in India. Viacom18 Sports’ 64Match Showcase will be broadcast prominently via 4K live streaming for the first time in India’s presentation of the FIFA World Cup. Jio Cinema will have multiple language feeds including English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali without charging any presentation or subscription fees.
