Geoje City successfully held the 13th Geoje Dunduk Grape Festival. The Geoje Dunduk Grape Festival Promotion Committee (Chairman Lee Seong-jae) held the ’13th Geoje Dunduk Grape Festival’ with the theme of ‘Grapes for You and Me’ at Dunduk Family Life Sports Park for two days from August 31 to September 1.

With the participation of approximately 18,000 tourists and citizens, the event ended successfully, generating approximately 363 million won in direct sales, including grape sales.

The Geoje Dunduk Grape Festival, held over two days, consisted of about 10 types of recreational activities, including cultural and artistic performances by local art groups, an opening ceremony and commemorative performances, a treasure hunt, Dunduk grape auction, and free tastings.

In addition, 17 different experience booths, 14 different food markets, and flea markets were prepared to provide entertainment for many tourists visiting the Geoje Dunduk Grape Festival. Above all, in preparation for the unbearable heat wave, a heat shelter that can accommodate 300 tourists at the same time was provided, putting a lot of effort into creating a safe festival atmosphere.

In particular, to promote the excellence of Dunduk grapes and the region, and to revitalize the local economy, the first 200 applicants who uploaded photos of their grape picking experience at a vineyard and their visit to Dunduk tourist attractions on their SNS with hashtags were given a bunch of nicely wrapped grapes.

Tourists who purchased grapes worth over 50,000 won were given a 5,000 won cashback that could be used within the festival, and an air bounce and water park were operated for tourists who visited the festival with children, allowing everyone to enjoy the festival.

Jeong Seok-won, Deputy Mayor of Geoje City, said, “I would like to offer words of encouragement to the farmers who have worked hard on grape farming throughout the year, and welcome and express my gratitude to the many tourists who visited the festival,” and added, “The city will actively support the cultivation of Kyoho grapes produced in our Geoje Dunduk region into the most delicious grapes in the country.”
