They are considered one of the most dazzling couples in Hollywood: Amal and George Clooney. They have now been married for ten years – and live a marriage of abundance.

A few weeks ago, the assembled press in Venice gasped: Amal and George Clooney strutted across the red carpet – and became a sought-after photo opportunity. There the 46-year-old human rights lawyer, next to her the 63-year-old Hollywood star. The couple beamed, visibly enjoyed the flash of flashes – and then breathed a sigh of relief when they were able to spend time together in private again.

Immediately after their appearance at the Venice Film Festival, the two traveled to France with their seven-year-old twins Ella and Alexander. Where they bought a luxury home a few years ago – and where they like to retreat to during their stays in Europe. For the Clooneys, protecting their privacy seems to be a key to their model marriage. A marriage that has now lasted ten years: the couple will celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary on September 27th.

Luxury on 160 hectares of land

In 2021 it was announced that Clooney had bought a winery in the south of France, including a swimming pool and tennis court. The property in Brignoles, a town with 17,000 inhabitants in Provence, is around half an hour’s drive from the Chateau Miraval winery, which has been owned by the former Hollywood dream couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt since 2008. The latter is a close friend of Clooney. But unlike Amal and George, the marriage for “Brangelina,” as they were called for years, didn’t last.

For the Clooneys, France is just one of the family’s many retreats. The Hollywood star owns properties in Los Angeles, Lake Como in Italy, Los Cabos in Mexico and Oxfordshire in England.

The withdrawn family life seems to be good for Clooney and his marriage. “George loves the situation he’s in,” an insider recently told US Weekly magazine. “He enjoys what he does and has no plans to retire, but he also knows that there are more important things in the world than making films.”

It’s not easy for the 63-year-old to live his life away from the spotlight: “Many people – even those who have achieved a fairly high level of fame – find a way to lead a normal life through the streets of “Going to New York without being followed and so on,” he recently told GQ magazine. “And there are, I don’t know, five or six of us that just never let up.” He has never been able to take a quiet walk through Central Park.

“We have to work hard at it,” he said of his private life with his wife. The couple seems to have found a quiet place with their winery in the south of France. “The property is magical,” the US Weekly source explained. “They have hundreds of acres, a vineyard and olive trees, and the children can be outside and are completely protected. There is a small village nearby with shops. It’s a very simple life and George loves it.”

The megastar’s life changed when the man who was considered Hollywood’s most eligible bachelor for many years met Amal through a mutual friend in 2013 and said yes a few months later. On September 27, 2014, he married the respected lawyer in Venice. There were, among others, Bono, Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber and John Krasinski and Emily Blunt.
