It breaks his heart…

Actor George Clooney (62) knew the late Matthew Perry († 54) since he was 16 years old. In the 90s, both were series actors: Clooney in “Emergency Room,” Perry in “Friends.” Even back then, Clooney noticed that his colleague wasn’t finding happiness…

Perry had always hoped to land a role in a sitcom, as Clooney now said in an interview with the magazine “ Deadline“ reveals.

“He was a kid,” Clooney said, recalling Perry’s words at the time: “I just want to be on a sitcom, man. I just want to be on a regular sitcom and I would be the happiest man on earth.”

Perry’s dream finally came true in 1994 with the role of Chandler Bing in “Friends.” “He was included in probably one of the best sitcoms of all time,” Clooney says today, but: “He wasn’t happy. It brought him no joy, no happiness and no peace.”

Clooney says the two worked side by side every day (“Emergency Room” and “Friends” were filmed at the same time in Los Angeles). Still, he had no idea what was REALLY going on with Perry.

George Clooney continued: “We just knew he wasn’t happy, but I had no idea he was taking twelve Vicodins a day and all the stuff he was talking about the heartbreaking stuff.”

Clooney is referring to Perry’s memoir “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” in which he wrote about his drug use – including his experiences with ketamine, the drug that ultimately killed him.

Clooney realizes: “It shows you that success and money and all those things don’t automatically make you happy. You have to be happy with yourself and your life.”

The Ocean’s Eleven star also recalls his impression of Perry when they met. “I knew Matt since he was 16 years old,” Clooney says. “We played paddle tennis together.”

George Clooney continued: “He was a great, funny, funny, funny boy.”

Matthew Perry drowned in the pool

The beloved “Friends” actor was found dead in the pool of his $4 million Hollywood mansion on October 28th. According to the autopsy report, he drowned after taking ketamine. The medical examiner also found buprenorphine, which is used to treat opioid addiction and to relieve pain, in his blood.

Because of his depression, Perry was given regular ketamine infusions. However, the last approved dose was a week ago. Since the drug’s half-life is only four hours, Perry must have taken it shortly before his death.

Perry also took testosterone shots, anti-diabetic medications, tamoxifen (blocks estrogen production) and nicotine lollipops.
