Title: Conservative Attorney Challenges CNN’s Claim of “Big Win” for Trump in Supreme Court Decision

Conservative attorney George Conway has challenged CNN’s Jake Tapper’s characterization of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision not to take up former President Trump’s criminal immunity case as a “big win.”

Tapper had stated on air that the Supreme Court’s rejection of the special counsel’s request to urgently decide the issue of presidential immunity was a win for Trump, but Conway, who is not a fan of Trump, disagreed.

Conway emphasized that the decision may not significantly impact the schedule of the case and suggested that it actually shows the weakness of Trump’s immunity claim. He further mentioned that the D.C. court is expected to act swiftly and a decision may come in a matter of days.

The Supreme Court’s decision declined to take up a case that would have determined whether Trump could be prosecuted for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Special counsel Jack Smith attempted to expedite the decision, but the justices ultimately sided with Trump, who argued that the case should first be considered by the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals.

Conway anticipated that the D.C. court may lift the stay by the third week of January, allowing for trial preparations to begin as soon as March. He also predicted that if the case were to return to the Supreme Court, a decision could come by June.
