Adonis Georgiadis spoke on Live News about the public hospitals, but also about the EDE in “Attikon” after the death of the father of ND MP Yannis Kallianou
A Sworn Administrative Examination into the conditions of hospitalization of the father of Yiannis Kallianos was ordered by the administration of the “Attikon” hospital, as stated in the communique announcing the death of the patient, with the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, commenting on the case, repeating that ” all protocols have been followed’ in the case.
“I do not enter into matters of a medical nature, I am a minister, not a doctor. The responsibilities of the minister and the government are whether there was an intensive care unit available – which there was – doctors, nurses and medicines,” clarified Mr. Georgiadis, speaking to MEGA, after once again expressing his condolences to Giannis Kallianos for the loss of his father of.
As for the essence of the case, he said, “Indeed, an EDE was ordered after the death of Kallianos, so that all the facts can be recorded under oath and it can be judicially checked if the prescribed procedure has been followed. The image I have is that all protocols have been followed in the case of Kallianos”, he noted.
“The entire health sector has rapidly deteriorated”
Meanwhile, research published by the Panhellenic Medical Association shows that, within a year, citizens’ complaints about ESY benefits have doubled.
“In the same survey, the situation has also worsened in private hospitals, not only in the NHS. The entire Health sector has rapidly deteriorated. I interpret it as an automatic return to the usual image of the health system after the pandemic”, explained Adonis Georgiadis.
Referring to the statements of his brother Yiannis Kallianos, he commented that “he spoke somewhat disparagingly about the doctors in Greece in general. This will allow me to say that it is not true, Greece has good doctors. The NHS has good doctors and the ‘Attikon’ hospital is one of the best we have.”
“The first issue at the Council of Ministers in the European Union was the lack of medical and nursing staff in the EU. and indeed the Commission emphasized how we will find doctors and nurses in the EU. It is not only a problem of Greece”, said the Minister of Health.
Kallianos: Life will go on, but the pain will remain
The mourning for MEGA meteorologist Yiannis Kallianos, after the loss of his father, is unspeakable.
“I don’t know where I am. I don’t know where I am, in which city. I’m confused. I have no strength to speak, I have no strength to walk,” were his first words on Live News.
As Mr. Kallianos said, he had never experienced such great pain, typically mentioning that his heart has been broken in two.
“You can’t leave everything, die too. Life will go on, but the pain will remain,” he said.
Among other things, Yiannis Kallianos emphasized that his brother, a doctor by profession, said that his father would not survive if he did not enter an Intensive Care Unit”.
“If they had listened to my brother, my father would be by my side right now,” he said.
