jpnn.comJAKARTA – Member of the House of Representatives from the Gerindra Party Faction, Kamrussamad, denied that the relationship between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the President-elect and General Chair of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, had begun to break down because Parliament cancelled the ratification of the Revised Election Law (RUU).

Kamrussamad emphasized that Jokowi’s relationship with Prabowo is very good.

He said that both Jokowi and Prabowo have the same view regarding the dynamics of the revision of the Pilkada legal umbrella, namely prioritizing the aspirations of the people.

“As far as I know, the relationship between President Jokowi and President-elect Prabowo is very good, the developments are so intensive that they have the same view that the aspirations that are developing regarding the Constitutional Court’s decision must be put forward,” Kamrussamad told reporters in Jakarta, Saturday (24/8).

He even explained that apart from absorbing public aspirations, the DPR’s decision to cancel the ratification of the Pilkada Bill was also thanks to instructions from political party leaders, including Prabowo, to their cadres in the legislature.

“That is why the DPR, apart from listening to aspirations, also listened to the leaders of political parties (parpol), including Mr. Prabowo, so that the continuation of the discussion was officially canceled,” said Kamrussamad.

He believes that Jokowi and Prabowo have the same hopes for the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada.

Jokowi and Prabowo want all elements of the state and society to work together to make the simultaneous regional head event a success.

The relationship between Jokowi and Prabowo is rumored to be breaking down. Gerindra Party speaks out.
