As the foundation announced on Wednesday, gold medal winners will receive 20,000 euros, silver medal winners – 15,000 euros, and bronze medal winners – 10,000 euros.
Athletes who will take fourth to eighth place in the Olympic and Paralympic Games will also receive cash bonuses, but they will be smaller than ours.
The foundation was established in 1967 and is financed exclusively from private funds.
It is reported that the fund will allocate a total of 23 million euros to German sports in 2024, of which 3.5 million euros will be directed to the participants of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
So far, sports federations have not reported possible prize money for medals in the Olympic Games, however, the World Athletics Union (“World Athletics”) said last week that the champions of the Paris Olympic Games in athletics will receive 50,000 US dollars (about 46,000 euros) each.
The 2024 Paris Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11, and the Paralympic Games from August 28 to September 8.
