German Chancellor candidate Scholz: Ukraine should remain a transit country for Russian gas

by time news

Ukraine should retain its status as a transit country for Russian gas after the launch of the Nord Stream-2 pipeline, says Olaf Scholz, candidate for Chancellor of Germany from the Social Democratic Party of Germany.

“As for the pipeline, the construction of which has been completed, it is important that everyone takes into account the guarantees that are associated with its operation. The guarantees include the fact that Ukraine should remain a transit country (for Russian gas. “B”) “, – said Mr. Scholz at a press conference (quoted by TASS).

Let us remind you that on September 6 Gazprom announced the completion of the laying of the Nord Stream-2 pipes, and four days later – the completion of the gas pipeline construction.
