German coalition government reaches budget agreement

Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s government reached a last-minute agreement to end a political crisis, after a court ruling invalidated the budget plan for 2024 and forced the coalition executive to negotiate a new program.

“There is an agreement,” a government source told AFP. Details will be released in the coming hours at government headquarters.
