Germany’s coalition government is at odds over whether to yield to British pressure and approve production of the Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jet for Saudi Arabia.

German newspaper Welt Am Sonntag on July 1, citing unnamed sources, said that one-third of aircraft components Eurofighter Typhoon is from Germany.

Prime minister Olaf Scholz partisan Social Democracy (SPD) and Finance Minister Christian Lindner are leaning towards allowing exports, but the Greens, the junior partner in the ruling coalition and some elements of the SPD vehemently oppose the move.
