In 2023 in the international rating “Fifty Best” (The World’s 50 Best Restaurants) included several restaurants from Germany. The awards ceremony took place on the evening of Tuesday, June 20, in the Spanish city of Valencia. The first place was taken by the Central restaurant in the capital of Peru, Lima.
The best restaurants in Germany
The best German restaurant on this list is located in Berlin and ranked 40th in the world ranking – Restaurant Tim Raue, which bears the name of its chef Tim Raue. At number 45, the list includes another institution in the capital of Germany – the Nobelhart & Schmutzig restaurant.

The Fifty Best rating, despite the number “50” in its name, consists of 100 positions. In 55th place in 2023 was the third Berlin restaurant on this list – Ernst. The Munich restaurant Tantris took 77th place.

In addition to compiling a list of the best institutions in the world, the jury also awards personal awards. This year, the title of the best chef in the world according to “Fifty Best” was awarded to Elena Reygadas, the owner of the Rosetta restaurant in Mexico City. Thus, for the third year in a row, this award was received by a chef from Latin America.
The jury especially noted the contribution of Elena Reygadas to the preservation of the traditions of regional cuisine and biodiversity – the use of local products to create new dishes based, in particular, on Mayan and Aztec cuisine.
