Germany has cut its car sales estimates. Because microchips are missing

AGI – The Association of the German Automobile Industry (VDA) cut its growth estimates for car sales in 2021 in Europe’s largest economy to 3% from 8%, calling into question the production barriers due to the shortage of semiconductors. Presenting the figures at its summer press conference, VDA also warned against a possible de facto EU ban on combustion engines from 2035 and called for more Eurozone investment for electric car charging stations.
