Germany: What are the rules for travelers from June 1, when it is enough to take a rapid test

by time news

The epidemiological situation in the country is stabilizing. The incidence rate fell to 35.1. Residents of the country dream of vacations and trips abroad. What are the rules for people entering Germany?

The rule of compulsory testing of passengers upon boarding the plane will be extended until June 30. To enter Germany by plane, you must provide a negative result of a PCR test done on time, a certificate of a previous coronavirus disease or a certificate of complete vaccination. This requirement applies regardless of whether the country of departure is considered a risk zone. Airlines are prohibited from transporting passengers who do not have the above documents.

PCR tests must be done no later than 72 hours before entering the country, rapid antigen tests – 48 hours. The test is required for children over six years of age.

If a tourist enters Germany from a region where mutated strains are highly common, all passengers must present a negative coronavirus test result. The express test in this case must be done no later than 24 hours before entering Germany.

If the traveler returns from a high-risk region, quarantine may be required.

If you enter Germany by car, bus, train or on foot from a region where the incidence rate is below 50 during the week, no special requirements are required.

Currently (as of May 28), the following are no longer classified as risk areas: Albania, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Malta, mainland Portugal from the Algarve, Poland, Balearic Islands, Galicia, Canary Islands, Murcia and Valencia, and some others, some regions of Norway and Finland.

When entering Germany from a high-risk region or a region where mutated strains of the coronavirus are especially widespread, the tourist must comply with the current restrictive measures and withstand quarantine.

Most countries in the world are still at least partially classified by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) as risk areas. In these countries or regions, the incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants has exceeded 50 in the last 7 days. These include, for example, favorite European destinations: Greece, Italy, Croatia, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Denmark, Austria, regions of Spain and Cyprus (as of 28 May 2021).
