07:22: In France, Ukrainian soldiers learn “the fundamentals of the profession”
A Ukrainian unit completes its four-week specialization training in infantry combat in a French camp whose location must remain secret for security reasons, as does the number of soldiers trained or their identity.
The profiles of the soldiers trained, with an average age of 35 to 40 years, are very varied: some, the oldest, have already had military training during their service in Ukraine and were recalled to the flag, others are mobilized for the first time, still others are volunteers. Most have not experienced fire.
This training takes place within the framework of the European Union Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM), for which 24 countries are providing training modules and personnel. France, which also provides soldiers in Poland, must train 7,000 Ukrainian soldiers in 2023.
